Hands on Defense (HOD) Network
The Hands On Defense (HOD) Program provides legal advocacy support for Justice-Impacted Individuals (JIIs) who face barriers to obtaining permanent housing. Justice 4 Housing's advocates and Peer Leaders support constituents who are excluded from accessing permanent housing stemming from archaic discriminatory policies.

Our Goal
The goal of all HOD activities is to help participants remain housed. HOD is a model used to disrupt the process Housing Authorities (HA) use to exclude Justice-Involved individuals (JII) from obtaining public housing and housing vouchers on the appellate level.
The Hands On Defense model is 98% successful in reversing denial of public housing assistance, as well as avoiding evictions.
BRIE's Way, in partnership with Justice 4 Housing are currently conducting Hands on Defense (HOD) workshops. If you are an organization or an individual who would like to become an HOD Network Member, please register below!
